Quick Facts:

  • Most dangerous kind of skin cancer

  • Spreads and grows easily

  • About 4% of skin cancer cases

  • Accounts for the majority of skin cancer deaths

  • Most cases are in men

  • The average age of diagnosis is 65

Looks Like:

  • Asymmetry

  • The irregular border

  • Color is uneven

  • Diameter (changing size)

  • Evolving (changes over small periods)

Causes:

  • UV radiation

  • Genetic factors

Prevention:

  • Sun-protection

  • Yearly skin checks at a dermatologist's office (if you have the privilege)
