Skin Cancer Prevention Outreach
Skin cancer is the most preventable type of cancer, yet it remains as the most common form of cancer in the United States. This is in large part due to a lack of awareness and education about the cause. That's why DermaTeens is hosting both in-person and virtual skin cancer outreach events directed at youths.

So far, DermaTeens Executive Director Ellis Schroeder created a presentation on skin cancer prevention and awareness for Skin Cancer Awareness Month on behalf of DermaTeens. He was able to reach multiple science classes at his school, and now, this is becoming a stationary DermaTeens initiative.

There was a virtual outreach workshop, with over 50 sign-ups and around 15 attendees, where DermaTeens educated participants on skin cancer prevention and awareness and attendees played Kahoot. Congratulations to Jasmine Biju on winning the Kahoot and the $25 Amazon gift card.

We also hosted an international virtual medical conference titled 'MedCon' with six other youth-led organizations. Check out pics below from our presentation on our Instagram!
